This is a ripe and expressive Pinot Noir blended by Amael Orrego, who crafts this wine across more than 80 Pinot Noir blocks. Sois bois and mushroom notes show an earthy immediacy in the aromatics, followed by ripe cherries and a touch of dusty minerality. The palate is sleek, showing freshness and a surprising structure. Ripe, fleshy red berries, savoury herbs, and a fresh forest element of pine bough and raspberry leaf balance the generosity of the fruit with the elegance of the savoury and umami nuances. (Decanter, February 2025)
Taut and energetic, showing a range of mineral, pine and floral aromas. Opens up beautifully. Light- to medium- bodied, offering fresh, focused structure and a long finish with lots of botanical characteristics. Drink or hold. (James Suckling, March 2026)
Also from the Single Block series, the 2023 Pinot Noir Loma is a bright ruby red color. Coming from more sedimentary Willakenzie soils, it’s brighter by comparison all around, with notes of cranberries, crushed stones, orange pith, and fresh flowers. It’s medium-bodied, with a refined and floating texture, fine tannins, and a gracefully tapered finish. It’s a lovely and elegant style of wine to drink over the coming 10 years. (Jeb Dunnuck, August 2025)
